Article Title: Target Advertising

Author: Editor Contributed

When preparing to set an ad run in motion, start by writing your ad objective (target) first.
Bad example: "I want to increase the number of students in class."

Well that is the general idea isn't it? But this is not targeted to a specific group.

Instead you need to be more specific in your target.

1) I want 5 more kids in the Saturday 'tiny tots' class.
2) I need 10 to run a new adult program.
3) I need to promote to business women for the new ladies self-defense class. (ie. real estate, travel agents, local doctors, etc.)
4) I need 7 more students in my after school program to cover my monthly costs.

This targeting will help give your writing/ads more focus.

** Take your time when writing ads, promotions or letters of a business nature. Write it out, leave it for a few hours or a day and then come back and look it over. The final ad copy will benefit from this extra effort.
