Article Title: Keeping your school clean

Author: Editor Contributed

We all hate cleaning, well most of us do anyway; but for appearance and for sanitation reasons it cannot be stressed enough the need to keep your training floor clean.

Be it adults or children, walking in other peoples sweat mixed with natural bacteria is not something you wish to have happening around your school.

After each training session the floor should be cleaned. This can be done by the students in several fun ways.

One way is to have the student’s line up on one end of the floor with a damp rag in their hands; on your count they ‘push’ the rag across the floor walking on all fours. You can make this a race by timing two teams of cleaners.

Another way is to choose a belt rank to do it, this could be assigned nightly. The ranks could be on cleaning duty for the week and then rotate.

Either way you choose to do this; this chore can be made enjoyable if it’s approached like a race or a game.

Be sure to check that your chosen floor cleaner is safe for bare hands, and that it will not damage the floor (even if highly diluted).
