Dear Readers;
I
am in the process of researching
a book documenting the history
and development of Uechi-ryu
in Canada; and am asking you
for assistance.
Sensei
Jim Maloney has fully endorsed
this effort and there are
two issues I am hoping for
assistance with:
1)
It is my sincere hope to collect
a number of Uechi-ryu related
photos from the past 30 years
or so. I am asking, if you
have any photos which would
be of interest to Uechi-ryu
practitioners; to share a
few of these images with me.
In no way am I asking for
property rights or the physical
photos, just permission to
use any you wish to contribute
(with information about them)
to be placed within the book.
The photographs could be scanned
and sent via email (hi-res
300dpi) to be published. I
am interested in photos from
the 1970’s right up
to the present.
As
I am self funding this venture
I cannot offer any payment
for permission to use any
photos which you would consider
submitting; however all submitted
photos used would be sourced
back to you, as well a complementary
copy of the book, when finished
will be sent to you.
2)
I am asking you to complete
a series of interview questions;
these questions can be submitted
online or in print form and
mailed to me (postage paid).
I am currently preparing what
I feel is a comprehensive
questionnaire to get as much
feedback as I could from you
on both Uechi-ryu in Canada
and Sensei Jim Maloney.
This
project does not include or
is in no way a technical manual
as such; instead the pure
focus is to bring to light
the full Canadian history
with a focus on instructors
& students such as yourself.
Please
contact me at editor@uechi-ryu-journal.com;
I look forward to your reply;
